About the Foundation

The philanthropic and research arm of the ARO ecosystem. We exist to fund and sustain the public goods layer of a conscious digital economy.

Our Story

The ARO Foundation was established as the public goods arm of the ARO multi-node ecosystem. As the operating nodes built products, protocols, and infrastructure, it became clear that certain kinds of work would not get funded through normal commercial channels: basic research, educational access, open tooling, and policy engagement.

The Foundation fills that gap. It operates independently from ARO Media and the other operating nodes, with its own governance, funding decisions, and program management. Its purpose is to fund work that benefits the entire ecosystem and the broader community.

What the ecosystem builds should leave the world better equipped to think critically about the systems shaping digital life. The Foundation is how we put resources behind that belief.
